The Fate of Kavanaugh and future of Trump's Administration

Yesterday, the Senate sat to vote either to move forward with Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination as the Supreme Court judge or to eliminate him from the nomination.

The votes, 51-49, which were more or less along party lines favoured him. The final vote will be determine today.

However, it is imperative to analyze the allegations and correlate it with the future of Trump’s administration to ascertain if Democracy in the US is gradually dying a natural death or if its government for the people, of the people and by the people as defined by one of the founding fathers of US democracy, Abraham Lincoln.

Three women:Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez, and Julie Swetnick have accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct. All allegations dated back to when the supreme court nominee was in High School.

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford accused Kavanaugh of exploiting her state as she was reportedly drunk. Kavanaugh who was 17-year-old at that time allegedly pinned her down with his hands over her mouth as his friends watched.

She stated that she was able to escape when one of his friend jumped on him.

Deborah Ramirez was the second woman to accuse Kavanaugh of sexual allegation. Ramirez asserted that she was a involved in a party during the 1983-84 school year and Kavanaugh was present in the party as a senor student.

She further said: “I remember a penis being in front of my face,“I knew that’s not what I wanted, even in that state of mind.”

Although she couldn’t sufficiently connect the gaps in her memory because she was tipsy at the said party, she demanded the FBI to launch a full scale investigation into her accusation for verification.

Julie Swetnick was the third woman to accuse Kavanaugh. Although she didn’t accuse the Supreme Court nominee directly, she however said that Kavanaugh was among the group of “Elite” boys who drugged girls and take the turn to rape them. She included herself to be one of the victims of the rape.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI reportedly interviewed 9 people. The Bureau did not interview Dr. Ford and Brett Kavanaugh.

The Bureau reported that there was no correlation between the said incidents as there were speculations that the allegations from all three women where political motivated to dent the image of the supreme court nominee.

The Supreme Court Nominee was excessively emotional during the first senate hearing some weeks ago.

Kavanaugh said in his defence that the allegations against him were untrue and a calculated attempt by his “emenies” to assassinate his character and tarnish his image.

He also said that he was a virgin all through high school and never indulge in the said crime.

After the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy as the Supreme Court Judge, Donald Trump opted for Brett Kavanaugh as the Supreme Court Judge.

The US president has taken the side of Kavanaugh and has been lambasting those in the opposition.

The President describe the whole “Charade” as “totally political” He said: “There’s a chance that this could be one of the single most unfair, unjust things to happen to a candidate but I am with Judge Kavanaugh. In my opinion, it’s totally political.”

Likewise Trump’s top special advisor, Kellyanne Conway has also pulled her weight behind Kavanaugh. She told CNN, “I feel very empathetic, frankly, for victims of sexual assault, sexual harassment, and rape. I’m a victim of sexual assault.

“I don’t expect Judge Kavanaugh or Jake Tapper or Jeff Flake or anybody to be held responsible for that. You have to be responsible for your own conduct.”

The future of America seems uncertain and unclear with Donald Trump in charge of affairs. Though the president has successfully raised the economy of the US compared to his predecessor, he has also received some backlashes from some countries in the middle east and China.

However, his affinity with Kavanaugh has threatened the foundation of US democracy. If he should scale through the senate and becomes US supreme court Judge, the judiciary may be compromised in the eyes of some citizens of the US and likewise the world. But if he is denied the office with these allegations, the democrats may sweep Trump of his feet and he may likely lose the next election.
