Trump brands CNN reporter

President Donald Trump of the USA has branded a reporter of CNN an “enemy of the people” after a hot exchange with the reporter during a news conference.

It all started when President Trump asked the reporter to give up the microphone and sit down, but the reporter refused. President Trump had to forcefully ordered him to sit.

At the conference, Donald Trump was asked about his affinity in “demonizing immigrants”. He however gave a negative response.

The CNN reporter, Jim Acosta later asked, “They are hundreds of miles away. That is not an invasion….”

The President interrupted and said, “Honestly, I think you should let me run the country. You run CNN, and if you did it well, your ratings would be higher.” Before the reporter could defend himself, Trump added, “That’s enough, put down the mic.” He continued, “I’ll tell you what, CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn’t be working for CNN.”

Affirming the ban of the CNN reporter, spokeswoman of the White House, Sarah Sanders said:

“The White House is suspending the hard pass of the reporter involved until further notice.
President Trump believes in a free press and expects and welcomes tough questions of him and his Administration. We will, however, never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern. This conduct is absolutely unacceptable.”

Jim Acosta however refuted Sanders’ statement and tweeted, “this is a lie.”  CNN also threw their weight behind it’s reporter and said that the suspension was “done in retaliation for challenging questions.”

It further added, “this president’s ongoing attacks on the press have gone too far. “They are not only dangerous, they are disturbingly un-American.”
